One of the most amazing achievements in 17th-century European art is the magnificent Château de Versailles. You’ll meet your experienced guide in the Versailles guided tour and collect your skip-the-line coupons just a few minutes walk from the palace. While purchasing Versailles tickets on-site necessitates queuing in two lines (ticket box office and entry line), your Priority Access pass allows you to skip both. Keep in mind that all guests must pass through security, regardless of their ticket type or vendor. Once inside, take a guided tour of the Castle’s most iconic locations.

Versailles Tour

Start your tour with a visit to the opulent King and Queen’s State Apartments. Explore the themed salons and their beautiful ceiling paintings to learn about the French royalty. Then proceed to the glistening Hall of Mirrors. The hall’s 357 mirrors were precisely placed to reflect the light of candles and protect the elaborate walls and ceilings from smoke. The reflection from so many mirrors was enough to light up the entire hall with only a few fires!

Approximately 5 million people visit each year and opt for a small group tour of Versailles, while between 8 and 10 million people walk the grounds. Versailles, a place of enormous beauty, is a symbol of France’s monarchy and storied history. We want to help you explore the best, with the best. It’s a must-see and a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

  • The Chapel: The two-story Royal Chapel is the starting point for tours of the Palace of Versailles.
  • The King’s State Apartment: It consists of seven chambers, each of which is dedicated to a Roman deity linked with the known planets of the time.
  • The Venus Drawing Room: It was used to serve light meals in a buffet format during the evenings at the residence.
  • The Diana Drawing Room: Here, Louis XIV would play billiards while the women sat on benches placed upon platforms, giving them a good view of the action.
  • The Mars Drawing Room: The helmets and trophies adorning the cornice indicate that this room was once used as a guardroom. It was the most sumptuous room in the Palace of Versailles, along with the Apollo Room.
  • The Battle Drawing Room: It honors Louis XIV’s achievements in the war with Holland, as well as the Treaty of Nijmegen, which ended the war in 1678.
  • The King’s Apartment: It was reached by the Hall of Mirrors, which served as a hallway. Courtiers would congregate here in the hopes of catching a glimpse of the King on his route to the chapel. Guardroom and Antechambers, The King’s Bedchamber, and The Council Chamber are all part of this apartment.
  • The Grand Gallery: It is made up of three rooms: the War Drawing Room, the Hall of Mirrors, and the Peace Drawing Room.
  • The Peace Drawing Room: It is decorated in honor of the peace that followed the wars shown in the War Drawing Room and Hall of Mirrors.
  • The Queen’s State Apartment: The sole distinction between the king’s and queen’s staterooms was the ceiling paintings, which depicted female figures in the Queen’s and male figures in the King’s.
  • The King’s Bedchamber: This room was originally the State Drawing Room, but it became part of the King’s apartment after Queen Maria-death.
  • The Queen’s Bedchamber: The Queen’s Bedchamber is where the heirs to the throne were born.
  • The History Galleries: After passing through the Queen’s State Apartment, you’ll arrive at the History Galleries, which were built during Louis-reign.
  • The Antechamber of the Grand Couvert: The King and Queen were forced to eat certain meals in public, and this is the place where they would do so.
